Designing a Life Worth Living

You only get one life, it’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.
— Will Trainer - Me Before You

Thank you for following me on my journey to create a life with purpose. So many times, women settle on the career choice of their youth and forget to take the chance at a happier life. My legal career helped fund medical expenses, private education for our children, vacations, extracurricular activities and so much more. But I wasn't being the best mom and wife that I could be. In order to do that, I had to suffer some heartbreak from the loss of a parent and find my way back into the light. The kind of person that would make my parents proud. I can feel them beside me, every scary step of the way. I took some time to spend with my daughters as they enter into adulthood and then made the decision to return to the court, and even downtown Seattle, working for an inspiring new judicial officer.

The last year has been an explosion of realizations and wonderful experiences. The upcoming years promise to be challenging, but we will lead with love and laughter, because love will keep us alive.

Lifestyle

In order to achieve happiness in life, you need to have the courage to take a leap. Since leaving the court in 2017, my life has taken it's share of twists and turns. Including eventually returning to the court to work with a wonderful new Superior Court judge. He convinced me to take up the position as his new bailiff and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision. It does lead to some very interesting days as I spend most of my days back in downtown Seattle.

I am a wife and mother to two wonderfully unique young women. Our lives have never been ordinary, but that's what makes it exciting!

Follow our journey as we enter this strange world of quasi-empty nesters, kids going off to college, ailing parents, creative DIY projects on our second home and my new career path!

DIY + Home Life

Our first home was furnished with relics from my in-laws attic. Then, with the preemie birth of our first born, medical bills and complicated schedules kept us in "hand-me-downs" for quite awhile. So long in fact it just became our style.

My husband grew up with a dad who was a Jack of all trades. Put that together with his artistic side and he can pull off any crazy Pinterest idea I get stuck in my head.

Summer 2017 we purchased a summer home, SunDaze, and we've set out to create a little oasis away from home. We completed one summer as Airbnb hosts and our house still has a little bit of updating to complete! The husband has a line on a full set of recycled cabinets and a super deal on some new flooring to remodel the kitchen, bath and livingroom. We also have a bit to accomplish to make it more handicapped friendly … stay tuned!
